Switzerland’s first-time election to the UN Security Council
Seeing Switzerland’s first-time membership of the UN security council, the Swiss Society of New York is organizing a “meet-and-greet” with Ambassador Pascale Baeriswyl, Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the UN in New York.
20 years after joining the United Nations, Switzerland, for the first time, is an elected member of the UN Security Council. The non-permanent 2023–24 seat furthers Switzerland's commitment to peace and security within the UN and is a key instrument in promoting Switzerland's foreign policy interests and values globally.
